A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and kids of all ages. My teaching methods include asking many questions to encourage children to reach for the answer(s) as well as to make the subjects as fun and as interesting as possible. I have the ability to reach the child on their level. I always give praise for effort as well as for trying and encourage those that I tutor, to strive for knowledge. I feel that education is of the utmost importance in a child's life to help them develop and grow properly.
I am a graduate of a small private University in Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia Design. A Little Bit About Me...

In public schools, I have taught all grades 7-12. I have taught high school physics, high school chemistry, high school biology, 7th grade science. I received a minor in chemistry that required me to also take the calculus series in high school. I have also taken some higher levels of math in college such as Differential Equations. I have also taught all levels of band from beginners to high school. I perform in two different groups. I enjoy playing jazz the most. I have a background in psychology that qualifies me to function as a counselor in public schools.
I am often described as laid back. I focus on the key components of learning and students are surprised when they understand more than they thought that they did. With music, I enjoy beginners equally as well as more accomplished students. I also enjoy a good joke now and then.
