I decide how best the child learns before making a full plan of how to help them. I am currently in college, attending Chabot College. I was recently in a 4 year college down in Pomona, CA for a quarter, Cal Poly Pomona, and in a couple of years I will be transferring Cal Poly SLO. I passed my high school years with A's and B's and have also been passing my university/college classes with the same. I assess the student's level of mastery by listening to parents, communicating with the student (in whatever appropriate way needed) and then doing some basic testing. Once the student is assessed, I design a learning environment and activities that coincide with the student's specific strengths, while adding some elements of challenge. I tend to work in a very focused way for 10-15 minutes, and then add in tactile activities (like Bannana Grams for example) for 10 minutes or so, in order to maintain the student's attention.
