American History is one of my top subjects! This has to be my favorite subject. I have studied everything I can about the forming of America to modern ideas.

As of 2012 I am going to be a Junior in Highschool. I have passed all my classes with a C+ or higher and I am able to teach younger children great. I can relate to the kids having issues with school education because when I was younger it took alot for me to strive but I found that motivation and improved since then.
My teaching style adapts to the person I teach. I find a way the child it good with and go from there.

My comments on tutoring American History : I can help with reading for comprehension and understanding the facts and the historical frameworks underlying American History.

I assess the student's level of mastery by listening to parents, communicating with the student (in whatever appropriate way needed) and then doing some basic testing. Once the student is assessed, I design a learning environment and activities that coincide with the student's specific strengths, while adding some elements of challenge. I tend to work in a very focused way for 10-15 minutes, and then add in tactile activities (like Bannana Grams for example) for 10 minutes or so, in order to maintain the student's attention. Children and youth who are struggling to read and write get patient assistance to learn the words correctly. My work will improve writing techniques (including essays and basic writing skills), reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and literary creativity. Chinese, Guitar, History Tutor in Bay Area Seeks Students

Mandarin Chinese - I use Total Physical Response Teaching (TPRS) when teaching elementary aged novice learners, which teaches Chinese as well as American Sign Language. History - I teach history using the many multi-media databases that I subscribe to each month. Musical instruments - patience and hands on. I ask the student what song they want to learn and start learning the first lesson.
