I am a sophomore at Eastern Kentucky University. I would really love to tutor in ASL since it is my minor and I love the language. I have taken up to 201 but I have many deaf friends who have taught me more then a class ever could. Since graduating from college, I have pursued further education through supplemental education. While working, I have attended classes in the evenings to keep current with teaching trends, practical classroom skills and the social-emotional needs of children in learning. For 8 years, I was an instructional assistant, but also substituted and served as an after school tutor. For the past 5 years, I have been a pre-school teacher with Migrant Head Start. Spanish was the home language of all the students in the classroom and, as teachers, we used both languages.
