A Little Bit About Me...

I am a sophomore at Eastern Kentucky University. I would really love to tutor in ASL since it is my minor and I love the language. I have taken up to 201 but I have many deaf friends who have taught me more then a class ever could. I am only experienced in tutoring my sisters but I think it would be a really fun job to teach someone else the language I love.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching children has been a life long passion. I taught elementary school for 30 yrs in grades one through four, title one reading specialist and a tutor. I have tutored students in reading,math,and writing skills.
I want to make a difference in a child's life. To help them understand and know the subject matter they are not understanding.I use many techniques to help a child learn. First learning should be fun, which I try to create for the child. I present the subject in a creative way to help the student be motivated and engaging. A Little Bit About Me...

Since graduating from college, I have pursued further education through supplemental education. While working, I have attended classes in the evenings to keep current with teaching trends, practical classroom skills and the social-emotional needs of children in learning. For 8 years, I was an instructional assistant, but also substituted and served as an after school tutor. For the past 5 years, I have been a pre-school teacher with Migrant Head Start. Spanish was the home language of all the students in the classroom and, as teachers, we used both languages. I feel qualified to teach pre-K or first grade Spanish speaking children and to teach Spanish to pre-K or first grade English speaking children.
