A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently completing my final year at Vanderbilt Law School. Over the past three years, I have taught a class and provided one-on-one tutoring for students preparing to take the LSAT. I also taught an upper level course while in grad school (it was in radio production). While I was in undergrad, I spent time tutoring elementary and middle school aged children over the internet. All together, I have helped dozens of individual students in a private setting and nearly a hundred students in the classroom. I have throughout my entire grade school career been both a tutor and a mentor. As young as in nine years old in fourth grade I was selected to tutor kindergarten children in mathematics. As I grew older, I continually tutored my peers in a multitude of subjects, math being the prominent and my best subject. In my junior year of high school, I was personally selected to mentor and tutor at risk middle school aged children at the partnered junior high. I believe that each child has its own learning style, therefore as a tutor you must be able to adapt quickly to the specific needs to every child. I think that the most important thing in tutoring is gaining the attention and confidence that you know what you are doing and talking about.
