I'm patient and understanding the complexities of accounting and the ensuing panic that it sometimes causes. In my experience the fundamental reason people need tutoring boils down to a failure to truly understand the concept of the debit and credit. I always begin by reviewing these concepts and ensuring that the student/intern fully understands the logic behind the debit and credit. Once understood, the comfort level with accounting fundamentals drastically improves and we can move on from there. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child has its own learning style, therefore as a tutor you must be able to adapt quickly to the specific needs to every child. I think that the most important thing in tutoring is gaining the attention and confidence that you know what you are doing and talking about. I also live by the belief that repetition is the father of learning.
While in college, I have worked with numerous tutoring programs both paid and volunteering. I worked for two years as a tutor mentor for the Upward Bound Program, where I managed a group of 12 college students that tutored and mentored 75 low-income and first generation students in grades 9-12. Also while in college, I have have had the opportunity to work closely with numerous Metro Public Schools around the Nashville area. Currently I am working with the Martha O'Bryan Center at a Reading Achievement Program Tutor.

Family & friends have expressed to me that my open-mindedness & clever & creative nature allow me to have an almost sixth sense-like intuition. Through the NCLB program, I put this theory to the test, & to be perfectly honest, I feel as if I lived up to this supposed “inherent capacity” to touch & better the lives of underprivileged, neglected, inner-city youth. As an educational activist, I REALLY, REALLY try to get & know each child on an individual basis.
