My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : I have taken this class in high school as well as college twice.

I am almost finished at Cleveland Community College with my teacher degree in childhood education for children with special needs. I have more then 6 years of college education under my belt because I love to learn, and also because all the different possible courses that a person can take at a community college. I have volunteer in a library and 3 day a week for two semester at Washington Elementary School. I love kids and I love too help out.

Turning your weakness into your strength

I have been tutoring for over seven years, starting with my peers in tenth grade. I have tutored a wide range of subjects, from Geometry through Calculus III, from general computer knowledge through utilizing the advanced functions of Microsoft Access. I have tutored people ranging from my peers to people three times my age, to as young as third graders. My motto has evolved into "Helping those who feel they can not be helped"
I help guide the student along, having them discover much of the information in a trial and error fashion. I tend to use the questions they are struggling with the most, making similar examples, then walking them through these problems and breaking down the problems until the student understands the how the process works.

My comments on tutoring Microsoft Office : Technically, I prefer Open Office, the free Office alternative, but the basics of operation and formatting are the same. Even if I don't know something related to your needs, I can help teach you how to help yourself find out. Any program you don't understand is only difficult and complicated because a user is either unwilling or doesn't have the time to get intimate with a program's workings.

I try to approach client's problems on a case by case nature: they have a particularly hard to write paper or a class that just isn't working for them, and I will try to work closely with them to find solutions. I will not write a client's paper or perform any creative work for them, but I will edit or provide guidance as needed. While there are no shortcuts to an A, I will share what has worked for me and others in the real world.
I'm a recent college graduate from NC State, with a degree in Creative Writing. However, the CW course instilled in me knowledge in a variety of fields from film to philosophy, and as a requirement of modern education made me more than just fluent in the language of computers. I love working with all types of people, as helping people is a great passion of mine. I find it effective to teach by relating to something that the person I am teaching really enjoys.
