Teaching can be a most wonderful adventure. I believe every child can learn. At times students or overwhelming with new concepts, and they need to be encouraged, and praise until they can accomplish the task at hand. I enjoy seeing the appearence of awareness on a childs face, when they have accomplished a goal, or solved a problem they had difficulty solving. I believe tutoring a child can be a powerful tool, and it can also unleash a potential genius.
As a graduate, I've been very blessed to have received a degree in Business Communication. In college I learned how to become a better educator, and communicate with them on the highest level. A Little Bit About Me...

I let each student show me how best to teach them by watching thier responses but as an overall apporach I teach them by tying to find out what is blocking them form understanding something then I teachthem how to reason their way around it. I augemnt this wirh humor and letting them show me what they have learned by having thtem show me how they would work through the problem.

Since 2004 I have been working in the Math Learning Center at Cabrillo College. I tutor a wide variety of math levels, ranging from pre-algebra through differential equations. In the years I have worked there I have become well known as a tutor who can help a student with any question they have.
My goal as a tutor is to build the confidence of my students. I teach by extracting the information that they already know and offering supplemental information when necessary. I try to make math safe, fun, and interesting for each student I work with.
