I am a Psychology major at the Univeristy of Central Oklahoma with a minor in Art and Sociology. (GPA: 3.5) I also have previouse tutored at Kumon. I am a very hard working student and I expect others to be hard working as well. There is not shame in saying that you need help. We all do at one poing in time or another. I myself have had tutoring in the past. Some things are hard to understand and we just need a little help from someone else. I promise not to be a stick in the mud but I will make sure that the job gets done and you recieve what you have paid for. I like to study in different ways. Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs. While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.

After graduating, I did substitute teaching for the rest of the school year, primarily in the Yukon School District. At that time, the market was flooded with new graduates with degrees in Elementary Education; therefore, I took a position working for the State of Oklahoma. I have always been the “go to” person at work whenever writing skills were required, and became known for my grammatical and spelling abilities. I have also been a mentor and trainer of other employees. I have been an avid reader all of my life and feel that literature can enrich lives both young and old. I enjoy teaching children of all ages, but young children in particular because they are so excited about learning new things. I am patient and considerate of each child's individual learning style, and believe that instilling confidence in each child's individuality helps them become strong, confident adults.

I have used Alpha Plus, Study Island, Destination Success by Riverside, Literacy First, You Can Learn, and Buckle Down software and written materials. I utilize several self motivating materials. I teach them how to acquire relevant data, how to retain it,and retrieve prior knowledge. My strength, is giving students a sense of pride, accomplishment, and building their self esteem. I have a great deal of patience with children who want to avoid learning. I have never taught a child that has not made their impact in my own life.
