I specialize in using mental triggers to help in effective understanding and information retrieval (e.g., moving cookies on a table to demo electrical charge). I also teach with analogies to real world scenarios, using sources from around the world, and throughout history. In attending the University of Nevada, Reno, I was introduced to and involved with several programs working with youth. I was a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) working with children who were removed from their home for various reasons. (Parents were usually abusive). I also tutored Autistic children in the Early Childhood Autism program at UNR for almost two years. This program has offered me unique training and qualifications for tutoring youth, not just Autistic children. I minored in Criminal Justice, and took several additional English classes outside the necessary classes required for graduation, as I find English, among other various disciplines, to be quite a strength for me.

If the subject lends itself to a real-world example or demonstration, I would offer this for thought. Finally I teach the core concept, connecting it to other concepts already understood by the student. There is usually more than one way to teach a concept.
