My comments on tutoring Economics : Whether it is help with a macroeconomics course or the international political economy as a whole, I offer academic tutoring that is coupled with real world knowledge of financial markets and business practices. I have been tutoring in this field for five years.

I am a firm believer that different people learn in different ways. Therefore, while I teach by my own set of principles I am always seeking feedback on how better to accommodate the manners in which criteria can be better understood.
Prior to serving in the United States Army, I was a successful entrepreneur in NJ. In 2003, I was recruited and after serving I returned to train troops at the Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, GA. A Little Bit About Me...

I adapt my teaching style to the student I am tutoring. Usually I like to show a student the correct method of solving a problem, and then I like to have the student do the task on their own. After they do a few problems on their own, I like to check their work and help them with any errors. Most importantly, I like to listen to their questions and make sure that I am being clear with my explanations. A Little Bit About Me...

My favorite approach is to take it slow. I find that to teach a student a specific field of knowledge there is almost always a hindering block that cannot be seen at first glance. For instance, a student who is having trouble with division of decimal numbers may not realize that the whole issue stems from his lack of understanding of the multiplication tables. Allowing the student to show you what he or she knows and watching the student attempt the problem step-by-step will reveal this hidden block. Once this hidden block is taken care of, the information will flow easily and naturally.

My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics. I frequently use positive reinforcement so the student feels even more encouraged to learn.
