My comments on tutoring Economics : Whether it is help with a macroeconomics course or the international political economy as a whole, I offer academic tutoring that is coupled with real world knowledge of financial markets and business practices. I have been tutoring in this field for five years.

Prior to serving in the United States Army, I was a successful entrepreneur in NJ. In 2003, I was recruited and after serving I returned to train troops at the Infantry Training Brigade at Fort Benning, GA. After returning home, I began working at a financial firm and became a licensed Investment Advisor and Asset Manager. I ran the Manasquan Edward Jones branch office until deciding to return to school. I studied Political Science at the University of Florida completing their International Relations program Cum Laude. Studies in International Relations focused on the international global economy, international agencies, national security, international political theory, and other aspects of public policy. I received minors in History and Chinese Language & Business Culture. While studying the Chinese Mandarin language, I became an asset to my Chinese counterparts (and visa versa) to gai ... read more

I always hope to encourage and motivate each person not only academically but also personally in the development of character by being a strong example in the life of those I am able to mentor. I believe that each of us has a very important and meaningful purpose in life. I also believe that I can learn just as much by interacting with the student as they can by interacting with me.

My teaching style is focused on the assumption that my students are capable of reaching their greatest potential. I provide a comfortable learning environment, and expect my student to be at ease when working with me. It is incumbent upon me to discover the learning styles to which each of my students are most receptive. I expect greatness and use positive reinforcement when students deliver. I am always evaluating my work, looking for areas I can improve.
For three years, I worked as academic aide and tutor for University of Montana Disabled Student Services. Upon graduation and then moving to Florida, I taught environmental science to students and adults of all ages and abilities as forester for Levy county. A Little Bit About Me...

I was brought up by both of my parents, which I am lucky to say they are both teachers. After I was born my mother stayed a housewife, but my father kept on studying, and teaching at many levels. He has now a PhD, and I am following in his footsteps, not quite same specialties but similar. Throught my working career of over 19 years, I have learned many skills and trades. But the one I have truly loved is learning new things continuosly. I am most comfortable training and tutoring in areas of language, business, basic math, computer skills and knowledge are my forte. I love teaching technology and how to use these systems.
I dont have a lot of experience with teaching children in a classroom environment, but I have a 5 year old, that I have to constantly teach different things besides what he learns at school.I have experience training physicians in a complex electronic medical rec ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

It does not matter if you are a student in college or high school or perhaps a graduate attempting to review math or learn a new subject. I can help you learn even the most dreaded subjects, such as statistics. I have always had a talent for helping students learn challenging topics. My philosophy on education is that most students struggle because there is an apparent gap between mathematics and real world applications. However, part of my success is due to my ability to relate concepts to real world situations. I make learning relevant, simple, and exciting. So don't wait to sign up for one of my math or business tutoring sessions
I have tutored students throughout my college years. I first discovered my talent while attending a course in statistics. I assisted a fellow student who was failing the math course. Not only did the student pass, she was able to earn a B in the class. ... read more

My style of teaching is to allow the student to learn by doing. This is supplemented with encouragement, guidance, and occasionally talking through why a specific answer is correct. There have been many times that I wish I had become a teacher but using the old saying: work always got in my way. Teachers, next to parents, are the most important person in a growing child's life. They can make a difference. I am extremely patient with children of all ages and believe that anyone can do better if they put their mind to it. They often need a nudge in the correct direction but most want to learn. Helping someone learn a new task is very satisfying to me.
I have a wide range of experiences in both Finance and Computers. Tutoring isn't something that I have specifically done, in the past, but I have taught numerous classes throughout my career. The classes have been both in small ... read more

During my last three years of undergraduate study I was the departmental tutor in Physical, Cultural and Economic Geography. I will be graduating from UF this fall semester with a degree in marketing and mass communication. Although I am young, I have had some experience in teaching, as I have worked as a tutor during the summer. I have also served as a tutor at the University of Florida in all math related topics. I truly enjoy working with people of all ages and I am a registered substitute teacher. I have always been a diligent student, as my transcript can attest, and I have a passion for teaching anyone, especially in the areas of mathematics, economics, English, and writing.
My teaching style embodies a combination of individualism and structure. Before I teach any subject, I dissect the topic to get to the fundamental root that may cause difficulties in learning. I break down the problem into a simple nature so that students can understand the logical reasoning of how to solve any problem. I be ... read more

My favorite approach is to take it slow. I find that to teach a student a specific field of knowledge there is almost always a hindering block that cannot be seen at first glance. For instance, a student who is having trouble with division of decimal numbers may not realize that the whole issue stems from his lack of understanding of the multiplication tables. Allowing the student to show you what he or she knows and watching the student attempt the problem step-by-step will reveal this hidden block. Once this hidden block is taken care of, the information will flow easily and naturally.
Throughout my education I have always prided myself in being an excellent student. Although this extended to all my subjects, my most passionate courses have always been in mathematics. This has been true from elementary all the way through college. Once in high school, I began tutoring students in ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I adapt my teaching style to the student I am tutoring. Usually I like to show a student the correct method of solving a problem, and then I like to have the student do the task on their own. After they do a few problems on their own, I like to check their work and help them with any errors. Most importantly, I like to listen to their questions and make sure that I am being clear with my explanations. I feel that all students can perform at a high level, but they must be confident in their abilities. My goal is to instill them with confidence so that they can solve problems on their own in school.

As a former student and professional athlete, I am a very self-motivated person. From the University of Florida I earned a B.A. in History and a Minor in Education. Last year, I worked in the classroom as a substitute teacher on all three major levels of grade school education. In addition, I have been a supervisor and counselor at various camps which require long hours and spendig individual time with children.
I love teaching and working with children. I believe good communication is what makes life efficient. In my mind, good communication requires a positive, instructive, and detail manner. A better future requires a better education now, and how we pursue it is vital. Education empowers a mind, attitude empowers a lifestyle.

I devote myself to my work. During high school, I enrolled myself at the local college (Florida Atlantic University) and took advanced placement courses. I graduated second in my high school class with over a 5.0 weighted-GPA and 500 hours of community service. I also orchestrated a 7-student tutoring group through the Exceptional Student department and thus have experience tutoring students with learning disabilities. Having obtained over two years worth of college education while still in high school, I pushed myself beyond the typical collegiate degree. I obtained two bachelor's degrees (BA in History; BA in English) and a minor in French. As an English major, I have great grammatical and communicative skills. As a renaissance student, I have an extensive knowledge of many subjects: calculus, physics, geometry, biology, English, civics, history, and SAT testing. I have tutored ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love seeing people understand something once I explain it to them in a way that they can understand it. I also love working with kids and teenagers because I believe that if we have a positive influence on young people they will grow up to be the leaders that our nation needs. My teaching style is geared at making people think. Students don't learn when they are spoon fed their education but when they are lead in the correct direction.
I am currently enrolled in the graduate engineering program at the University of Florida, in which I plan to graduate in the spring of 2012. I enjoy working with people and I have a strong background in numerical analysis. I have taken the GRE, ACT, and the SAT.
