A Little Bit About Me...

as a graduate of San Jose State University I have a lot of pride in my command of the English language. I am a stickler for proper grammar and spelling in all of the correspondence that I send. I have produced a wide variety of effective communication projects over the years and continue to strive for perfection. I have mentored many assistants in the business and practice of communications and photography. Many of them have established their own studios throughout the state.
My style of teaching starts with observations, questions and then active listening. With a valid agenda and skills assessment I can put an effective learning plan into place. I have a great deal of patience and continually seek to hone my teaching skills and be an inspirational mentor.

A Little Bit About Me...

For the past 10 years, I have worked in my community, helping to better the lives of children. At age 15, I began mentoring young girls and volunteering for a non-profit organization, counseling developmentally delayed children and at-risk youth. I later went on to become a Behavioral Therapist, educating children with autism. My love for children (and passion for education) was the determining factor in the course of my college career. I attained a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Utah in 2008 (graduating with a cumulative GPA of 3.8). In addition to my Psychology degree, I also hold a certificate in Human Factors Engineering and recently published research in this field.

A Little Bit About Me...

My commitment to education can be found very simply. At 28 years old, I decided to go back to college to complete my final two years of school. I attained my BA 3 years later, having had to work full time to support my wife and two young children. My goal is, at some point, to return to school to attain my teaching credential, so I can fulfill my dream of being an English teacher.
Children are not students. They are not tools, nor are they pieces of a larger machine. They are people, impressionable and as important as the rest of the world. So, then, why would we expect everyone to learn the same? To teach a child in any discipline requires, in some cases, finesse, and an ability to adapt to their needs. As a college graduate, I was extremely driven to achieve a high level of academic excellence. I earned my bachelors degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Philosophy. These have enabled me to have an understanding of many areas of Language Arts, History, and English. As a Comm Studies major I was held to a high standard of technical writing with essay and would always use credible sources for my research.
