Sign Language is one of my top subjects! I am an American Sign Language Interpreting major graduating this spring with my degree from an Interpreter Training Program. I will also have my License through the Ohio Department of Education after graduation to interpret in schools grades K-12. I am hearing impaired, deaf in my left ear, and have been taking ASL for ten years since losing my hearing.

I have been taking ASL classes for High School and College since losing my hearing in my left ear ten years ago. I think it is important to sit with the student and determine their strengths and weaknesses. I am very flexible in my teaching. I believe the student and I are a team. If he/she succeeds, we both succeed. I am always going over my notes, and thinking about different ways of teaching. I am open to suggestions from the student. If something doesn't work, I change it. I believe that each child learn differently, and as such, I have found the best way to teach is to cater to each child's individual learning style.
