I have been playing piano since 2001, and spent time as a piano teacher in 2011 before relocating for school. My teaching style is flexible, and I attempt to find strategies that are personalized to how the student learns best. I have experience teaching children ages 4-6, including both neurotypical and autism-spectrum children. I also have informally instructed college-aged individuals whose first language was not English on the proper use of various English grammar structures. I have been teaching piano in France for 4 years, and now 1 year in the U.S. I have never taught French but now my level in English is getting better, I would be able to teach French without problems. I have studied Spanish for 15 years and have lived in Costa Rica and Miami where I was required to speak Spanish daily for school and for work. I have had tutored Spanish professionally for seven years and have many long-term clients, both young and old. I have also tutored college level accounting, economics and finance, as well as math and english for grade school through high school. My youngest client thus far is four and my oldest is 72. I have worked with college students in the past, working with comprehensive learning and mathematics. I learned that each student understands in their own personal way; some learn by seeing something concrete and for others it is working through the steps in the problem that helps them understand. I have also had the experience of teaching a freshman seminar class where the focus was finding the students strong point or drive and having them research their major or likes to find what job fields might fit them well. I love teaching all ages, but have experience working with college freshman.
