I remember my first tutor in junior high. He helped me gain an understanding beyond just the numbers and the formulas. From his example, I started tutoring friends as a sophomore in high school. I enjoy helping others see beyond the numbers, in understanding the basics, and seeing how everything fits together. I enjoy guiding the way and helping to enlighten children that have that innate curiosity. How many can envision the one (or two) individuals that helped them to see and imagine? I will review your child's work to find out where they are having problems. I will work with them in their familiar text book and break down the problems to make them easier for them to understand. Math was not always easy for me. I worked hard to learn and excel mathematically. Now I feel that I have pride in teaching something that was also hard for me to understand.
