Latin is one of my top subjects! I am currently working on a Certificate in Latin at the Catholic University of America, but previously I had taken Latin throughout High School.

I am currently completing a Post Baccaulaureate certificate in Greek and Latin from the Catholic University of America. I had taken Latin during high school and worked as a tutor during that time. I am looking to begin tutoring again and hope to become a High School Latin teacher upon completing my program in December.

A Little Bit About Me...

I studied Latin and Greek as an undergraduate, as well as French, German, and Russian, because I've always loved languages, especially hard ones. For the last nine years, I have tutored Latin to students ranging from those in middle school to college students and adult learners. Wanting to pursue my study of Latin and Greek further, I took a Master's degree focusing on the later life of these languages in the Middle Ages and how they grew into modern languages. I'm now a lecturer in Latin at a local college.
The key to teaching and learning Latin is patience. My approach combines traditional methods--for example, grammar work and vocabulary exercises--with newer methods that bring the materials alive for the students--for example, stories, word games, and projects.
