I enjoy teaching and I love languages; language and culture are two sides of the same coin. I believe everybody can learn, but each in different ways. I will fit my teaching to the client. If a student learns with visuals, I will use visuals. If a student is an aural learner, I will cater to that side. I am very flexible and take direction very well. I have taken a year or more of each language I am qualified to tutor. The languages are Italian, French, German, Spanish and Latin. I also lived in Italy for a couple of months, in the Northern region. So I have real world experience speaking the language.
I have recently graduated from Purchase College with an Undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in English. I enjoy teaching and have learned that the best way to teach is to listen. I have great patience and find it a challenge to find"the" way to teach a particular student. I learned much of this from my Father who taught for 40 years at college level.
In my job I have been teaching my clients for 30 years. While I hold a BA in American Labor History, I have a deep knowledge base of Central Asian, Near East and Asian history obtained from business experience. As a graduate of a liberal arts college and a graduate program of a Jesuit university, I am a strong supporter of the process of learning and how to optimize that proces for each individual. I have earned one bachelor degree, a BA in Business Policy, a major I petitioned and was granted pernmission to design by officials at Hartwick College.
