A Little Bit About Me...

As a political science and social policy major I have been required to read, research and write collegiate level papers. I strive for excellence in my writing and ability to help others improve their writing skills. As a health educator, I did lesson planning, creative activities and group facilitation. I also provided individual counseling to those who required more one-on-one assistance. Currently, I am a counselor and instructor for an Educational Opportunity Program in higher education. I teach MLA/APA citation, how to avoid plagiarism, and improving grammar, punctuation and overall writing ability.

My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. I was especially interested in algebraically-capable computer math programs. I,eventually, went back to school for my Mathematics degree as part of a long-standing interest in and commitment to Mathematics. I presently teach students who are "at risk" in the 7th through 12th grades and have done so for the last 10-11 years at OHM-BOCES. I have tutored the NYS Math B course for 5 years as well as the current NYS Algebra I/II courses.
