This is my second career. I taught Spanish for 9 years, then retired. However, I continue to teach. I home school and do private tutoring Mondays - Thursdays in Brentwood TN. and do some private tutoring after school. I was born in Puerto Rico and spent summers there on and off for 35 years. I lived and studied in Santiago de Compostela, Spain and lived in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico where I attended La Universidad de Filosofía y Letras.
I get to know the students strengths and weaknesses, and I work diligently to improve on any area of weakness they may have. The student and I work toward achieving goals. The goals can be getting better grades in grammar, speaking, vocabulary, and or writing. I take the curriculum and make it easy for the student to understand.

Back in Spain, I was teaching Basics of Business Administration for Start-Ups. I had a very wide and varied scope of students, from recent grads to experienced businessman engaging in the adventure of entrepreneurship. I would love to teach you!

I am currently a medical assistant and I tutor or babysit for extra cash since I want to go back to school. I use to help tutor and do community hours. Currently I don't have a student to teach because I took a break but I am ready to go back to it again. I love teaching and finding ways for my students to know. I am a native speaker and do not have degree on teaching. For Spanish it is very important to speak the language a lot since the more you speak the better you are at comprehending the writing aspect. Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
