German is one of my top subjects! I am a U.S.-born American citizen, but, due to my childhood status as a military brat, spent 10 total years in Germany. During my time there, I immersed myself in the language and in the culture, even spending one year of my undergraduate studies at a German university. I extended my knowledge of German at the university (The University of the South, The University of Colorado) and now hold a Bachelor's and a Master's in German. I also have two years of formal university-level teaching experience as a teaching assistant at CU Boulder. My experience with the German language occupies the past 12 years of my life. I began learning the language when I was 11 years old and had moved to Germany because my parents were employed by the U.S. Air Force. Now, 12 years later, I have a Bachelors and Masters in German, two years of teaching experience in German, and also private tutoring experience on the side. While in Germany, I was constantly immersed in the German culture and economy, and made many German, Austrian, and Swiss friends with whom I spoke German daily.
