Geography is one of my top subjects!

Since coming to the Charlotte region in 1996, I have had a wide variety of experiences as a language teacher, having taught in public, private, homeschool, summer school and tutoring situations. Although my primary focus is teaching French, I have also had the opportunity to equip students in Spanish I and II to continue with their language studies. I have been teaching social studies in Cabarrus County for the past 12 years. I am nationally board certified and have my AP certification in World History. This summer I will be receiving my IB training and will begin teaching AP world history in the IB classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is extremely interactive. I do not believe I hold all of the knowledge and the students should defer to me. I like to begin by informally ascertaining what the students know about a given topic instead of assuming either lack of or mastery of said subject. I love using hands on materials and making the subjects relevant to students real life situations. I believe that all students, including those with learning disabilities, can achieve at levels that even adults could not imagine.

In 2009 I graduated with a BS in Statistics from Virginia Tech. I also received a minor in Business.
