A Little Bit About Me...

I pride myself on helping students have fun while learning. I believe that if a student is not enjoying themselves they will not learn. As a teacher I use a hands-on approach to give the students a realistic approach to learning. All students can learn and as a teacher I feel it is my job to bring the best out of any child. I love children and I long to make a difference in each ones lives.
I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom. I earned an alternative teaching certification, which allowed me to work as an inclusion teacher at the middle school level, which allowed me to spend a great deal of time working with small groups and in one on one settings. I believe students will always be frustrated till they learn the material and if you make it interesting and related to them personally it tends to elivate the frustration and to feel more comfortable with the material. I am presently looking at obtaining my teaching certificate to teach elementary school at one point and time. My father's family is spanish so I speak a some. I am not fully fluent.
