I have throughout my entire grade school career been both a tutor and a mentor. As young as in nine years old in fourth grade I was selected to tutor kindergarten children in mathematics. As I grew older, I continually tutored my peers in a multitude of subjects, math being the prominent and my best subject. In my junior year of high school, I was personally selected to mentor and tutor at risk middle school aged children at the partnered junior high. Reading is one of my top subjects! I am an avid reader of many things not just books. I am always wanting to learn new things so i read up on different subjects and I'm self taught no college degree just real world experience.

My teaching style is a little bit outside of traditional. I believe in a more hands on approach not just say " Read this and lets see where you are tomorrow." People respond a lot better to this approach as opposed to homework or lessons that make no sense.
I don't have any formal training like college or anything. Every bit of my experience is real world experience from working in the field. I believe that hands on or real world experience is much more efficient compared to book knowledge. A book can only tell you a thing or two that might work. I know what will work.

I hold a bachelor's degree in Political Science, which focused on writing and research. I earned an alternative teaching certification, which allowed me to work as an inclusion teacher at the middle school level, which allowed me to spend a great deal of time working with small groups and in one on one settings. A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for an after school program for the past five years. In this position I was able to tutor students and help them with their homework. The experience I have is with students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade. I did my student teaching in a preschool and a 2nd grade classroom.
