I have been a Substitute Teacher for the past four years. I teach for grades K-12, and assist in special education. I also taught English to students while I stayed in Thailand. I especially enjoy working with Elementary students. I love to see students grow and learn new things.
I love helping students learn new information. Having studied Psychology, I find everyone interesting, and love to learn what makes them "tick". As a student I enjoyed school and learning and therefore went on after high school to obtain a B.S in Biology. I have always enjoyed science, math, and writing and enjoy helping others in these subjects as well as others. My first tutoring experience was tutoring underprivileged high school students weekly. I then began tutoring middle school and high school students weekly. Over the course of the school year, the children I tutored had improved a great deal in their courses and now had a positive outlook on learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I am in the Education field to make a difference in student’s lives. I hope to do this through instruction and example. I believe these two elements intertwined and essential for any educator. I am value the “Teacher as facilitator” education model. Today, I classify my teaching style as a constructivist theory with humanist elements. I believe that a combination of these three models will ensure the greatest amount of learning for students as I prepare them for further education. In my experience, working with at-risk, failing, or youth in general requires a level of acceptance from the student. Educators cannot reach that level if they talk down to their students. I feel I am able to bridge that gap and reach students on a personal level.
