A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child has their own special style of learning in which they succeed the best at. When I tutor students I take the time to get to know each student on an individual basis and as a unique person. I make it a priority to determine their learning style and use that to implement a plan. I try and understand the reason they are having problems in their studies and then execute a plan in which they can succeed. I create study guides, review questions, and sample test questions for the students as well. In addition, a tutor can be a positive role model in student's lives and serve as a mentor and can be a person who the students can count on to answer questions.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love helping students learn new information. Having studied Psychology, I find everyone interesting, and love to learn what makes them "tick". I use this tool to help me better understand where a student is coming from, what motivates them, and what their needs are when it comes to learning. I strive to be available to my students in a way the serves them best in their learning style.

Although my career was based in industrial analytical chemistry and biology, I also voluntarily tutored my nephews, neices, my wife, and groups of Oromo student at my community with math, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology and general biology both at high school level and college level.

Classes I have taken at CSB/SJU include extensive English and Education courses and a continuation of Spanish education. I worked as a paid English tutor during my 4-year college career through Upward Bound Tutoring program.
