A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that learning needs to be fun, but that students need, and most of the time want, structure in their classrooms. I believe that learning needs to be relevant to students. They need to know why and where in their lives they will need or be using what they are being taught. I use a variety of instuctional methods while teaching (lecture, discussions,group activities, etc.) so students stay interested and because every student learns differently. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an active teacher, especially when allowed to create my own curriculum. I love to incorporate lectures with powerpoints, videos with discussions, and book readings with field trips. I think the best way to get young people involved in learning is to keep their minds thinking and never reach the point of predictability. I earned both of my degrees while working and caring for very young children. I feel this was possible because of my time management skills and determination to see a task through to completion.
