I went to the University of Notre Dame and graduated with a bachelors degree in pre-professional studies. I believe that being a coach, and mentor is the best way to teach children. I think that "hands on" training, or "on the job" training is the best way to learn. This is mostly true throughout our entire lives. Providing guidance, and answering questions rather than doing the work for them.

Every child has his/her own learning style. I think it is important to first determine how each child best learns – either visual, auditory, or tactile. I can then tailor my instruction to the needs of each student. In general, I believe that people learn best by ‘doing’. I am easy going, energetic, very passionate (especially when teaching calculus and physics), and engaging. In most cases it takes only a few sessions and students are having fun. I believe that most students can understand mathematics with a proper explanation. For example, the order of operations is usually presented to students without explanation for its existence. This gives the false sense that it is an arbitrary rule. I enjoy sharing my understanding to students, but I also enjoy providing a role model for my students.
