MBA, BS prepared professional looking to tutor

I am an 15 year IT professional, the last 3 with the University of Iowa. I also have 6 years of chemical/biologincal operations and technical writing experience with Abbott Laboratories and SC Johnson Wax. Schooling includes a BS in Business/MIS with a minor in English and an MBA with concentration in International Business and Finanace. I am preparing to begin a PhD program in Business, and have scored a GMAT of 770 in 2005 and a GRE of 1330 in 2010.
My primary goal is to help students understand the "why" of studies. "Why" do we look for differentials in calculus? "Why" do we describe imagery in poetry instead of just saying how we feel? I also home schooled both my children from the time they were in grade school until they received their high school GEDs from a local community college. I have always had a strong appreciation for education and learning new things. My educational experience was strengthened when I attended Cornell College, which has a strong liberal arts program. I immediately took an interest in the sciences and pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Pre-medicine. My education was additionally complimented when I immersed myself in several language, mathematic, English, and humanity courses, which gave me a strong diversity in the liberal arts curriculum. A Little Bit About Me...

I always believed that all the children are smart and can learn difficult things. For them to do that all they need is a good teacher who can develop their interest in the subject, which will ultimately result in their success. I was successful in doing that with my brother and my cousin and today they both work in IT companies and Software engineers.
