Education Should Be An Experience!

I have been teaching at the University, Community College, High School, and Middle School levels for over twenty years now. My experience has been diverse and has been in front of diverse students. Throughout these past two decades, I have encountered so many different types of thinkers, learners, people, etc., and I consider each experience to have been a mutually rewarding and educational time (After all, we are lifelong learners, who should find growth in everything in which we engage.). Accordingly, I have enjoyed teaching a wide array of courses. which make me capable of tutoring several content areas. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very easy-going individual; I don't like to push too much but am encouraging. The way I think teaching Italian works best is to make associations with the English language. The two languages are so heavily intertwined, but not at face value. After learning Italian, my knowledge of English is much more profound. Tutoring is very rewarding to me and making a difference in someone's life is important.
While at Wayne State University, I studied Geography, Urban Studies and the Italian language. When I graduated, I held a BA in Geography with minors in Urban Studies and Italian. During my education at Wayne, as I gained a good knowledge of the Italian language, I started to tutor lower-level students. In the end, I tutored Italian for one and a half years.

I believe strongly in providing children an opportunity to learn material in a way that will resonate with them personally. Throughout my education leading to a dual Master's Degree I have been able to learn a wealth of information about tailoring information to meet individual learning styles. I have experience in a variety of subject areas such as: math, statistics, reading, writing, social sciences (psychology, sociology, political science). Additionally, I have provided private lessons for multiple students that play brass instruments.
I love working with all children, and all age groups. I am here to help find a unique way to present the material to your child to help them understand it in language that they can understand. I am patient, easy going and considerate. My overall goal is to help young students realize their potential, and instill a love of learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a special education teacher, I worked with students with learning and emotional disabilities, ADHD, autism, and cognitive impairments in grades K-12. I was responsible for modifying and presenting curriculum across all subject areas. I began tutoring as an undergraduate, providing assistance in psychology and writing courses, as well as teaching group classes and providing individual tutoring for SAT and GRE preparation. Over the past 7 years, I have worked with students as young as 3, providing early intervention for communication delays, and with students in K-12 and beyond. I have most recently tutored students in basic reading skills, middle school math, algebra, geometry, and HS level biology, English, and history, as well as provided test preparation tutoring for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. In the context of tutoring students in their current subjects, I have also assisted stude ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is my passion. I strive to make my students feel the enthusiasm I have towards the subject. My teaching philosophy is to engage students in the study by making an abstract idea turn into something real that students might be truly interested in. I believe that students can overcome obstacles with positive reinforcement. I’d be there to help my students help themselves to become successful in their course of study. I’ve taught, tutored and mentored many successful students who became scientists in most prestigious Universities throughout the world. Many of these successful individuals would be happy to talk to my potential clients if deemed necessary. After all, the teacher is only as good as are his students.
I have graduated with dual B.S. degrees in Education and Political Science in 1972 in Odessa, Ukraine. My teaching experience includes 28 years of teaching che ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching students of all ages and I recognize that most students do not get the help they need during the school day, which is why it is important for them to get the help they need outside of class. Each student learns differently and it is important for me to figure out a way that works best for him or her so that I can instill the techniques that will help them throughout their entire educational career. I find that many students get frustrated when they don’t understand and if I take the time to help them at their own pace in a teaching style that works best for them school becomes less stressful. I feel that once students feel confident in the classroom they can enjoy learning and that’s what I hope to give my students.

I love helping people learn, especially kids. My mother is a teacher, and emphasized the importance of an education throughout my childhood. I have grown up with the benefits of a healthy learning environment, and I think every child deserves the same. I am friendly, patient, and relate well to children. I have a younger sister in high school and many of her friends' parents have come to me for help with their child's education. I have provided the positive, role model-like relationships that have enabled me to establish a rapport with them over time. I believe that for students to succeed in school, they must have a desire to learn as well as a support system that values education. If both of those things exist, success is inevitable.
I value education to the highest degree. I graduated in May earning a BA in Business Administration with dual concentrations in Sports Management a ... read more
