I tutored before but of course I wasn't paid for it because it was at my old elementary school. I helped children from ages 8-13 which I was only 11 or 12 at the time. I maybe young to tutor children and maybe I should wait until I'm 18 but, I love helping children with their homework and watch them accomplish the subject.

I am graduating with my Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Tennessee Technological University of Cookeville, TN. I worked for four years in the department of Minority Affairs as a tutor of calculus, biology, and general and organic chemistry, but the majority of my students sought assistance in chemistry. I also worked for a year as a volunteer tutor in the Honors Tutoring Committee of Tennessee Technological University and then served for several more years as an Honors Tutoring Committee Co-Chair. I earned a well rounded education from Western Kentucky University with a strong emphasis in math / Engineering. Since College I have pursued the Surveying field. I have recently obtained the status of Professional Land Surveyor with the State of Kentucky. I have taught young graduates surveying practices in relation to the Engineering field while in management positions. I would be very excited about teaching children. I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization. My teaching style would consist of trying to get the student to understand what they are studying which is considerably better than just simple short term memorization.

I am a 60-year old man who has taught every subject at every grade level as an artist in the schools for over 35 years. I currently substitute in all the grades in Hart County so I have had to demonstrate knowledge of every subject at every grade level. I have been in the classrooms of public schools every day for about 60% of my adult life. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Math.
