Math and Business Tutor

I have completed all College level Math classes for an Electical Engineering degree. Math is my area of expertise. I also have several other areas that I have tutored and been able to help students (see my course list). My experience includes 25 years of real world experience in the engineering and business fields which when balanced with my book based knowledge has allowed me to improve the tutoring experience by providing concrete, real world examples within several study areas.

In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material. It is also important to be perceptive to the possibility of student frustration as this is almost always a road block that will arise and if not identified can lead to lower absorption of the material or complete lack of understanding and drive altogether.

Students sometimes feel too vulnerable to try things when they don't know someone because they do not want to make mistakes. I believe in learning by doing. In order for information to be retained, but must be practiced. I am not one that will stand and lecture a student, but allow them to show my where they are at with their skills, and work together to improve them. The student will dictate the pace, but I will dictate the focus of each session, after an assessment.
