Experienced, Patient, Versatile Tutor

have been tutoring for many years. I tutored students of Math especially. All my students, passed their tests successfully, with no exceptions. Moreover, they all left me equipped with good problem-solving tools that have served them in their future careers. I am sensitive to the specific strengths and weaknesses of each individual student, and I expect the maximum from each. It will be fun working together. But it will require effort. I deeply believe that success earned by sweat is the most important gratification in one's life. Usually the student's motivation for the tutoring is the desire to succeed in a test. But I understand the learning experience as a long-time investment, from which the student will continue to benefit throughout life.

Learn from the basics

I have taught several students in India, and I am quite properly understand the knowledge and the background required to teach subjects. I was myself a college topper and a school gold medalist. Hence I can teach and inculcate the knowledge of teaching in students. Learning maths and science is something very elementary if understood from the basics and in-depth. Thus it is very important that a student should learn, read and write all in-depth. This learning curve is something that I have tried to develop in myself from years to come and hope to imbibe the knowledge of it in several other students. I had got 167/170 in my GRE thus the basics of my maths is quite strong. I have even taught several students in India about how to crack this exam and helped several for cracking this exam too. I hope to help many more of the students.

Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Anything in gen-chem I can definitely help with!

I graduated from Berry College in May of 2021. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science with Honors. My major was Animal Science with a minor in chemistry. I have worked on several research projects that are in the process of publication or being prepared for publication. I never made anything below an A on my physics and chemistry classes. My specialty is in animal science, chemistry, and physics. However, I can teach lower to middle level mathematics. I am currently enrolled as a first year veterinary student at the University of Florida.
I am a very personable teacher and I like to modify my teaching approach to each student. I also employ a variety of disciplines to help facilitate a better understanding of the subject being learned.

Chemistry is one of my top subjects! Along with Calculus and Physics, Chemistry provides a challenge for most college students, and is usually the largest hurdle that University freshmen face. As a nuclear engineer, I was not required to study in Chemistry II, which governs bio-chemistry, and so if you are seeking specific tutelage in that area I am probably not the best to teach. However, for the principals of Chemistry, which are widely applied to the other sciences, I will be able to effectively train you in how to use dimensional analysis, chemical equation balancing, and breaking down the problems in order to give you the most comprehensive toolbox possible to solve the more advanced problems. Covalent bonds, chemical half-lives, aqueous solutions, and acid-base titration are just a few examples of what I can teach you in this subject.

Greetings one and all! My name is Tristan, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida's College of Engineering as of August 2012. I graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nuclear Engineering and a cumulative GPA of 3.25 (and I will tell you that I earned every point of it). I am looking forward to using my knowledge and proficiency in various fields of math and science to make your four year slog through the rigors of academia as palpable as possible. I offer flexible hours, friendly demeanor, and a patient approach to tutoring that caters to your individual skill set. All of this comes at a reasonable price, which can of course be negotiated to suit your budget (remember, I was once a broke college student too). In short: I work with you, for you, and on your terms! I offer tutelage in many technical disciplines: Math, Science, and Engineering are my b ... read more

Experienced high school and college general chemistry tutor

I prefer to work either one-on-one with students or in small groups, so that I am better able to address any specific concerns the student may have. I have worked with nearly 200 students and from this experience I have learned many ways of presenting material and am willing to work with you to find the presentation that makes the material clear to you. I have also gained a series of tips and tricks that help to keep easily confused information straight. As a tutor I want it to be enjoyable, but I want you to learn also, so I typically have a focused but relaxed tutoring environment.
I have worked with high school and college chemistry students doing tutoring for the last five years, and I have been a teaching assistant for honors general chemistry II for the past three years. I have recently earned my BA degree from the University of Florida in the field of Health Science. I have future plans to go to graduate school to become a Physicians Assistant, which will take me 2 years to complete once I get accepted. I am in the process of finishing my application now. I have great study habits seeing as I graduated with honors from UF.
I love helping people learn. I like to find a way that helps them remember things, which sometimes mean making a game out of studing. Studying has to be funin order for someone to get anything out of it.

A Little Bit About Me...

Through my years of tutoring I have learned there is no single teaching method that works for every student, but every student can be successful if you personalize your teaching method for them. Whether they need visualizations, analogies, straightforwardness, etc, I find what works for my tutees and build on it. My students’ successes make me proud and I strive to give my best to them.
I am a recent graduate from Johns Hopkins University where I majored in mathematics with a concentration in chemistry. Over the past eight years I have tutored and taught continuously in many areas of math, chemistry, physics, and SAT. I have helped students succeed on both the high school and college levels, and have given students exposure to the field of medicine by working as a teacher at the National Student Leadership Conference on Medicine.

It is my belief as a teacher that my primary responsibility is to facilitate both my student’s scientific and general education, by providing not only a competent lecture but also insights into problem solving skills and discovery through experimentation. To be truly successful at teaching I feel that one must tap their natural passion for the craft, one’s students and the subject material to build and reinforce a student’s knowledge and confidence. I feel that this allows the students to see that you care about their education and want them to succeed. I use my dedication to, and enthusiasm for teaching as a driving force to always give my very best to motivate my students to not only learn the details of the subject material at hand, but to understand the broader concepts as well.

I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. I not only want to teach them how to properly concur their learning material but how to find the information they need if they do not know the answer. Additionally, I want them to have fun and enjoy quality time with a supportive mentor and gain an enthusiasm for school.
I have a B.S in Animal Biology. I have had to take extensive science and math courses. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with childre ... read more

I respect children because I find I can learn just as much from them as they can from me. I believe an important step in becoming a good student is self-confidence; because of this, I try to be as motivating and encouraging as possible to my students. I also try to make learning fun, highlighting how interesting a certain concept may be or how practical it is to daily life. I am patient and friendly, so that students can feel comfortable with me and not feel shy to tell me when they do not understand something. My goals are 1) to help students enjoy learning and 2) to help students realize that with hard work and dedication they can accomplish their goals.

I enjoy teaching because it allows me to contribute to a student's understanding of invaluable concepts which will improve and enrich their lives. I am sociable and easy to talk to, and I remember what it was like being in school and struggling with difficult concepts. All students can learn, and I believe that the key is finding a way for each individual student to personally relate to the material. If difficult concepts can be presented in a way that is tailored to each student's specific needs and interests, their potential may be reached.

A Little Bit About Me...

Being a Ph.D. candidate and appointed research assistant, I very much realize the importance of true comprehension of a subject. Not only do I hold two B.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Chemical Engineering but I also carry credits to the equivalent of a Non-Thesis Masters in Applied Mathematics and am one course shy of a minor in Chemistry. I have tutored groups of students for Sylvan Learning Centers, conducted one-on-one sessions with Educational Enrichment and independently, and prepared and delivered lectures for advanced undergraduate chemical engineering courses. I am capable and experienced in tutoring all levels of mathematics, chemistry, chemical engineering, physics and materials science.
I am a very enthusiastic tutor and, as I stated in the previous section, believe teaching in such a way that the student gains a true mastery of the given subject. In a sense, ... read more
