I have previously, and am currently, tutoring a fourth grade student with his spelling and math. I graduated from Auburn High School with a 3.8 GPA. I have an ACT score of 30. My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I would be able to help with homework for children in Kindergarten, first or second grades.

I enjoy children, especially young children and I believe that everyone can learn. I know that one-on-one hands-on teaching is the best and that is the approach that I take when tutoring. Some skills must be memorized but cognitive recall is important. I believe in using whichever learning style works best for the child. For most children, hands-on is the best. I do have patience when working with a child but expect him/her to do his/her best and be serious about learning.
