Social / Health /Behavioral Science Researcher and Educator

I received my Ph.D. in Social Gerontology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2009. During my graduate training, and in the year following, I worked for Scripps Gerontology Center as a researcher. I completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Carolina Program for Health and Aging Research (CPHAR) at the Institute on Aging at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in August, 2012. I am currently working at Stanford Center on Longevity. My expertise centers on the factors that shape active engagement in later life, broadly encompassing two areas: (1) older adults’ capacity to be active; and (2) the patterns and outcomes of active engagement behaviors. A Little Bit About Me...

For many years I have worked with youth, and I hope to continue doing so. I love children and have a passion for mentoring and educating. For the past two years I worked at a YMCA after-school program tutoring children, and assisting in the supervision of the program. I recently finished completing my bachelor’s degree in business management from Liberty University, and have a solid understanding of English, Math, and Science.
I am a key believer that education helps a child flourish throughout life. I am patient, laid back, and sincere and want to do all that I can to make sure that a child understands the subject at hand.
