A Little Bit About Me...

Being a mother of teenagers gives me an edge as a teacher. I have tremendous patience and understanding of the daily lives of young people. I try to make my students feel comfortable and safe in my classroom, if a student does not feel comfortable, they will find it hard to open up to a learning environment. My philosophy is learning does not have to be painful.
As a mother of three teenagers, i decided to go back to school and fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming a high school English teacher. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would best be described as conversational at best, drawing out of the student, their knowledge or lack of knowledge. I have taught my two honors student sons that I add to their body of knowledge and they are to coalesce the information to their understanding.
Having a degree in Philosophy & Religion has many advantages in teaching. I have found to better understand a subject it is best to go and study many different resources for that subject, a macro-view. However the complicated subject is, a person who knows that subject will be able to present it in a simple concise manner. I then repeat this with another problem of the same type. I like to go through every type of problem like this while they write the steps of how to do the problem down and then try to solve each problem step by step.
