A Little Bit About Me...

During my 13 years in the Navy, I have always excelled in my academics and I welcomed the opportunity to serve as a mentor to my peers as well as subordinates. I have been active in every school that my children have attended and currently work as a tutor occasionally for my sons 8th grade AVID class (math & science) at Galaxy Middle School, Deltona, FL. I have extensive knowledge in many fields that helped me achieve my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Criminal Justice. I also have volunteered at my local church for 3 years and am active in the childrens ministry, where I serve as a mentor and role model.

I currently hold a bachelor of science degree in biology and also have obtained a minor in chemistry. The major subject areas taught in my college curriculum where biology, chemistry, math, and physics. I feel that I am completely comfortable in teaching any one of the subjects. In the past five years I have been a CPR/first aid instructor for future lifeguards. At the end of twenty four hour training class each student was required to pass a test with an 80% or better.In addition to this, during my last two college years I tutored college and high school students on a volunteer basis. These students where tutored mostly in Chemistry, Biology, and Math ranging from algebra to trigonometry.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have numerous styles to teaching all depending on what works best for each individual. I can walk students through material, or present it in a simulation/ real world format. I can also create a quiz based learning environment where you learn by answering questions. These are just a few ways I can teach subjects, each student is unique and therefore should be taught based on his or her preferences and I am always more than willing to adapt to whichever way a student feels comfortable.
