American History is one of my top subjects! I have a History major in secondary education and this is my favorite subject.

Achieved a vast array of educational experience as a substitute teacher by working in all grade levels and in all subjects including special education. Experiences gained in the following school districts: Algonac, Brown City, Carsonville-Port Sanilac Croswell-Lexington, East China, Marysville, Peck, Port Huron and Sandusky. Guest Teaching for four weeks from November 26, 2012 thru December 21, 2012 for Jeff Downs. Classes covered; 7th grade Geography, 8th grade U.S History, 9th grade U.S. History and 10th grade World History. All classes are mixed with both EI and CI special education students with no special education co-teacher in the classroom. Consistently ate lunch in cafeteria with students to interact, gain insight and develop rapport.

I first look to see what kind of learner the student is, whether he/she is a visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or any combination of these learning styles. To be honest I have no experience in teaching outside of the college setting. The two years marked denotes my two years in upper division English classes at SVSU where student critiquing was the norm. Beyond helping my friends with their papers I took several classes on teaching and as such have academic experience, but not real world (ie K-12) experience. I have been in several writing workshops that cover a variety of English facets from research writing to creative writing to poetry. This spanned the second two years of my college career. I recently have spent the last six months in the Head Start Program as a center teacher. We prepare them for kindergarten. I have taught all grade levels. I currently have a BA with a concentration in K-8 education. Due to online classes, I have written hundreds of research and essay papers using APA style although I have helped my son use MLA which I can write in effectively.
