American History is one of my top subjects! I have a History major in secondary education and this is my favorite subject.

It is my intention to provide each student with a safe learning environment. Within this environment, individuals will be allowed the freedom to express their views, while respecting the rights of all others. I will maintain an eclectic view on teaching methods and philosophies, based on which approach best addresses the learning styles and specific needs of each individual student. When working with an individual student, my teaching style is to focus upon the student and create an individualized plan for how the student learns. I first look to see what kind of learner the student is, whether he/she is a visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or any combination of these learning styles. I am then able to formulate an approach for genuine learning. The next step is to ascertain what the student difficulties are in the subject matter and where the core of the difficulties may lie. With this teaching style, I am able to the student with what could be the core of academic difficulties by teaching to his/her strongest learning style.
