I am very good at teaching at the student level. I found that this is very important if you want to accomplish good results. If you teach at a level higher than the student's he/she will not be able to follwo you. If you teach at a level that is below the student's level, he/she will get bored and loose concentration.
As a manager at a number of high-tech companies I was responsible for teaching employees in the use of complex software applications.
