A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching is one of passions as I am always interested in learning. I feel that the quality of the knowledge obtained rests without doubt in the ambitions the student possesses challenging the teacher to present his best. I have taught and cared after juveniles up to 14 years old, girls, boys, chalenged and all. Planning, daycare and one on one instruction were all on the agenda which helped sharpen my teaching skills
As ambitious a student in the classroom as in life I have completed over 180 college credits at age 24. I double majored in Biology and English with a Bachelor of Science degree from a very well known, highly esteemed University in Wisconsin. I went to Taiwan for two months from March-May 2010 and helped teach in a "Bushiban" or cram school to kids aged 6-15. I am currently looking for a full-time job relating to my degree.
Conversational. From what I learned in Taiwan little kids are not for me. This is the truth. Kids at about 14 or 15 and older are much preferred. I don't think I am animated enough for younger children...well, not a GROUP of younger children anyway. When it comes to one on one though, it is much different I am sure. I like to give ideas on how to sound out words, remember grammar/math tricks and things like that.

I love to learn and to teach others. I have had many teachers (in 2 different countries) and I have noticed that there are many that are VERY good at their subject, but they cannot teach it well to their students which I think should be as important. As a Math tutor I heard that comment often about some teachers. Patience and time is crucial and so is relating theoretical problems to practical problems and/or relating them to something the students can relate to. Each child has a different learning ability. The best way I feel for success of a child would be a one to one or small group teaching style. This will provide the teacher to student kind of relationship where the teacher may know the level of each student.
