I have worked with young people tutoring elementary and high school subjects as well as being a public school teacher for over 10 years. I have been a nanny for highly intelligent young people as well as those on the autism spectrum. My most recent success was with a 1st-2nt grader in reading and rebuilding self confidence.

A Little Bit About Me...

During my enrollment at the University of Arizona in Tucson, I tutored several students in advanced psychology courses as well as advanced English composition courses to undergraduates. I graduated from the University of Arizona with honors--a member of Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology and a memmber of Golden Key National Honor Society. After graduation, I tutored a high school student in geometry. Lately, I have been tutoring a fifth-grade student in math and reading.
I believe that applications to everyday life should be stressed if a tutor/teacher is to pique the interest of their student(s). Rather than stressing rote memorization, I believe it is more important to relate overall concepts in a "partnering" style. I believe that all students are capable of learning but it just takes finding the right teaching method and approach that works for them. All students learn differently, so naturally we can’t teach the same way to every student. All students are able to reach their potential if they are given the right tools.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay with a degree in Elementary Education. Starting in high school I have been working with children in one way or another.
