A Little Bit About Me...

In my tutoring of students in reading and math, I have assessed each child and from the assessments I have build a program that address the child's needs. Some of the materials that I have used are project read materials, open court phonics,Linda Bell's materials. So, I have the greatest interest in finding areas that a child needs help with and then finding materials and methods to solve their problems.
I have taught elementary students for 27 years. I have taught 2nd-4th grades. I have done graduate work in reading and have obtained a reading minor. I have experience teaching students with many different reading processing difficulties. Both in my classroom and in my own tutoring business. I have helped many students become better reader. I love to teach and help children of all ages (including adults) to further gain knowledge. Understanding is the biggest challenge that we can struggle with in this life. I am a firm believer that it takes hard work to accomplish goals but it also should include the lightheartedness of life.

I am a student at University of Wisconsin Fox Valley, receiving my Associate Degree of Arts & Science at the end of May 2011.
