A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught elementary students for 27 years. I have taught 2nd-4th grades. I have done graduate work in reading and have obtained a reading minor. I have experience teaching students with many different reading processing difficulties. Both in my classroom and in my own tutoring business. I have helped many students become better reader. It is in the summers that I have operated my own tutoring business. Working mostly with children from our Title one reading program. I have also tutored students in math.
In my tutoring of students in reading and math, I have assessed each child and from the assessments I have build a program that address the child's needs. Some of the materials that I have used are project read materials, open court phonics,Linda Bell's materials. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a fervent believer of Gardner's mutiple intelligences, because I know that each person has a unique learning style, and unique interests. Therefore I will do all in my power to discover each and every student's learning preferences, so that learning becomes a responsible, joyful experience. Consequently, I use eccletic methods, in brief "whatever works"! I always look for new tricks, new technological ways, but also include the "good old ways" in my teaching... because some students like them!
