A Little Bit About Me...

I was working as an statistician researcher for UNICEF when I decided to become a math teacher. I realized that my real passion was not conducting research, but teaching students. I have earned an BA in Economics from University of Massachusetts, but I decided to go back to school to get a masters degree in education.I focus my thesis on multilingual math education, and was awarded the Iowa State Hudson Human Sciences Scholarship.

I graduated with a BA in mathematics from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I also hold a minor in Reading and the equivalent of a minor in secondary education. Math teaches logical thinking and I have ultimately loved this aspect about the subject! My reading minor also taught writing techniques though it was being an avid writer myself that allowed me to teach how to write a paper in 30 seconds or less that causes students to write a full page or more in 30 minutes or less. During my field internship I was published in an education journal twice. I taught a full school year in a private school before I finished my degree. I tutored ages 5 through 25 in various levels of math, reading, science, chemistry and GED curriculum.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was very much involved in International School IB Systems. I was formerly a Classroom Teacher in American Schools in Kuwait City and Mexico City 2 yrs each, much earlier in my teaching career I was a teacher in public schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota for 9 years before going to Nicaragua American School to teach Chemistry in 1991. I was once involved in an adult education program with Intel Corporation in Rio Rancho and instrued courses in Mathematics including probability and statistics.
I have always enjoyed my work as a classroom teacher.My Goal has always been to build a self sustain classroom culture centered around acheivement.In Science, I have constructed my lessons and laboratory work for students around Inquiry style. My highest accomplishment as a Middle school teacher was leading a school Math Count Team to a victory in a state competition.
