Elementary is one of my top subjects! Was a Nanny for young children

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire, my wife and I moved to South Korea and taught English. This opportunity allowed us to gain teaching experience and become absorbed in another culture. My formal teaching experience is limited to two years with seventh graders and high schoolers. When I pursed graduate work in cell biology, experiences with formal education were limited. However giving seminars and training technical staff was common and bears similarity to formal teaching. Tutoring is a happy mix between formal and informal teaching combining focused attention and designing specific tasks for student growth.
