Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.

In my teaching/coaching/tutoring, I try and see what the students weaknesses are at first, and then try and help them work on those areas. In math, it is critical to know the basics, because like some other subjects, math builds and builds. The concepts learned in elementary (addition, subtraction, etc), are used in more complex forms the rest of one's life.
