After graduating from the U S Naval Academy, I received my Navy "wings" as a pilot. Following 12 years of service, I became an airline pilot. These experiences have allowed me to travel the world, gaining practical insight into my specialty subjects of history, geography, and German. I then became a certified teacher in Virginia and taught public and private high school. I have received many awards along the way and have much to share with students of any age.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is very simple, but effective. I merely talk to the student to find out where he or she is having difficulty, and work to find ways to remedy the problem. We will go over the concepts and do some exercises that will help to answer questions and deepen understanding of the source material.
I am a William and Mary graduate with a BS in Chemistry, with several years of programming experience from developing my own computer games. In addition I performed laboratory research at the College of William and Mary for a thesis and have 2 years of experience tutoring in Elementary Spanish, Computer Science, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

I have graduated with a 3.97 GPA from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in May 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts in German, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. My experiences with the German languages are numerous. I grew up in Berlin, Germany and have lived there for 15 years. After I moved to the United States, I acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in German at VCU. During my senior year, I received an Excellence in German Award (Best student in German selected by faculty) from VCU.
