I try to create a fun learning environment, ensuring the youth can ask questions, have flexibility at their learning speed and still master the material in ways that will stay with them. Depending on the subject area, I like to give hypotheticals, questions and real-world examples that will help achieve memorization easier.
After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., I returned to Wyoming to work in politics and government. My tutoring began while I was studying at Montana State University. My Junior year I enrolled in a class that was based around community service and my role was tutoring middle school aged children. The tutoring was in a small group setting and was on any subject the children needed help in but mainly in reading comprehension. After college, I attended Via Lingua where I became certified to teach ESL. It was here that my tutor experience expanded. For 4 months, I not only taught night classes but tutored on a one-one basis with students who needed further assistance. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor's degree in Specaial and Elementary education and have completed 45+ continuing credit hours. Many of the credit hours that I have accumulated have been in refining my teaching skills in mathematics, reading, and writing. I have 11 years of teaching experience in public schools. My experience has been mostly with primary-aged children, though I have taught children through sixth grade. As I think of my life without teaching, I cannot imagine what else I would be doing. I believe that children learn in a variety of ways. Some through listening, some through reading or watching, and some through doing. My goal is to find the way that works for each child and use that method to help them on their way to reaching their full potential.
I graduated from the University of Wyoming within 3 1/2 years and student taught in first grade. Since then, I have been teaching in several preschool programs and spent part of one year as a long term substitute for a Title 1 program.
